The rarest piece of automotive history right before your eyes, everywhere you turn… and on the race track. That’s the Inaugural Sonoma Speed Festival. I consider myself fortunate to have been commissioned to photograph this once in a lifetime event. And it wasn’t a dream, even though I’m certain many people left pinching themselves. In this collection, my goal was to not cover any specific car, particular race group or time period, but to capture the essence & feel for the event - to hopefully be enjoyed time and time again.

Unrestored 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO #3647 GT originally delivered to John Surtees for Maranello Concessionaires / Bowmaker Racing Team per M.C. Order No. 38 - June, 6, 1962. Possibly the most beautiful (and expensive) car in the world. Purchased by present owner in 1967.

The Inaugural Festival will be hard to beat

At the Inaugural Sonoma Speed Festival Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Formula I team demonstrated five-times World Champion Driver Lewis Hamilton’s 2016 Mercedes W07 Hybrid Formula I car. This was a very first for a present-era turbo hybrid Formula I car to be driven on an American track apart from during the United States Grand Prix itself.
